SEASON OPENER: The Engineers kick off the 2015 season with a home contest against Hartwick at Harkness Field (4pm). 

LEADING THE WAY: Rensselaer is coached by Bridget LaNoir '99, now in her 15th season ... A member of the RPI Athletics Hall of Fame for field hockey and ice hockey, she became the program's all-time winningest coach in 2009, passing her former coach Beth Hallenbeck on October 20, 2009, when the Engineers defeated Utica, 2-0.

TEAM LEADERS: Seniors Angela Cascio and Celia D'Agostino are Rensselaer's captains ... Cascio is a forward who was also a team leader last season ... She started all 17 games a year ago, scoring three goals with one assist for 11 points ... She had 16 shots including 12 on goal ... D'Agostino also started all 17 games in 2014, tallying one goal on a penalty stroke with a team-high six assists for eight points.

ROSTER MAKE UP: RPI returns 15 student-athletes from last season including three seniors, three juniors and nine sophomores.

RETURNING FIREPOWER: Among those returning to the Engineers is senior forward Hana Murphy, who was second on the team in goals (4), assists (4) and points (12) ... She led the squad with 57 shots including a team-high 37 on goal.

WELCOME: Eight freshmen join the Engineers for the 2015 campaign ... The class includes two forwards, two midfielders, two defenders and two goalkeepers.

ACADEMIC HONORS: Rensselaer was recognized as one of the top academic teams in Division III by the NFHCA last year ... The Engineers, who had a team grade point average of 3.206, had two student-athletes - Jen Losh & Jena Nawfel - named to the Scholars of Distinction list.

NFHCA ALL-ACADEMIC: Eleven members of 2014 RPI field hockey team were selected to the NFHCA National Academic Squad ... Seniors Hannah Clough, Chloe Hutchinson and Molly Zuk earned accolades for the fourth consecutive season ... Joining them were Celia D'Agostino, Colleen Morris, Kathleen Batzinger, Nicole Clancy, Jane Edgington, Hilary Fiorentino and Jen Losh.

HONORED IN MAY: Molly Zuk, who graduated in May, was the recipient of the Rensselaer Athletics  Henry Kumpf Award, which is given annually to a senior student-athlete who demonstrates a strong degree of motivation, desire and determination in contributing to the success of the team.

ALL-REGION: Rensselaer student-athletes Hannah Clough, Celia D'Agostino and Chloe Hutchinson were to chosen to the 2014 NFHCA Division III North Atlantic All-Region Teams at the end of last season ... Clough and Hutchinson were named to the First Team, while D'Agostino was chosen to the Second Team.

ALL LEAGUE IN 2014: Chloe Hutchinson was named to the All-Liberty League First Team while fellow senior Hannah Clough earned All-League Second Team honors, along with junior Celia D'Agostino ... Kelsea Messer and Jena Nawfel were All-Honorable Mention.

LAST SEASON VS. HARTWICK: Angela Cascio scored the game-winner, while Celia D'Agostino recorded two assists, leading RPI to a 3-1 win early in the campaign ... Rensselaer outshot the Hawks 32-4 and held a 9-3 advantage in penalty corners ... Goalkeeper Hilary Fiorentino played all 70 minutes for the Engineers, recording three saves ... Hartwick's Yanna Boggio made 20 stops.
