GAMEDAY: For the fourth time in six games, the Engineers host a contest, this time taking on the Kean Cougars in a non-league game ... RPI is 4-1 overall and 3-0 at Harkness Field ... Kean enters the action at a nation's-best 7-0 overall and 4-0 away from home.

COMMON OPPONENT: Rensselaer and Kean have one opponent in common in Utica ... RPI defeated the Pioneers 3-1 last Saturday, while the Cougars beat Utica 5-0 in their season opener ... Kean has also played Keuka, who the Engineers host tomorrow ... The Cougars defeated the Wolfpack, 10-0.

NON-LEAGUERS: Of the Engineers' 17 games, 11 are non-league affairs including their first seven ... RPI's first Liberty League match is next Saturday at nationally-ranked William Smith (1pm).

CLOSE CONTESTS: Rensselaer has played three one-goal games, going 2-1 - all by scores of 2-1, and two two-goal games, both 3-1 wins.

HOT HAND: Sophomore Megan Jones has at least one point in four of the five games thus far this season ... She has multiple points in each one she has reached the scoresheet and has team-bests of five goals, two assists and 12 points ... She had three goals and six points in 17 games last season.

MAGIC NUMBER: RPI's leading scorers last season compiled 13 (Molly Zuk) and 12 points (Hana Murphy) after 17 games, respectively ... Through five games this year, sophomore Megan Jones has 12 points and Jena Nawfel has five.

GAME-WINNERS: All four of Rensselaer's game-winning goals have been scored by Megan Jones.

AMONG LEAGUE LEADERS: Sophomore Megan Jones is first in the Liberty League in game-winning goals with four ... She is third in goals (5), fourth in goals per game (1.00) and fifth in points per game (2.40) and points (12) ... Freshman Rachel Kaufman is third in the league in saves (27) and fourth in saves per game (5.40) and goals against average (1.11).

LAST TIME OUT: Colleen Fowler and Megan Jones both had a goal and an assist each to lead RPI to a 3-1 non-conference victory over Utica ... All the scoring came in the second half with Fowler notching her first of the year off a penalty corner ... Utica tied the game in the 45th minute but Jones put the Engineers back in front with her fifth goal on a perfectly played penalty corner just 4:36 after the Pioneers knotted the score ... Jena Nawfel gave the home team breathing room when she buried a loose ball with just over 10 minutes remaining ... Freshman Rachel Kaufman improved to 3-1 by stopping four shots, all in the second half ... Kells Casey stopped seven shots with five saves coming after halftime ... The Engineers held a 16-10 edge in shots and a 16-5 advantage in penalty corners.

THE OPPONENT: Kean has an NCAA-best 7-0 record, having recorded five shutouts and outscoring its opponents, 37-2 ... Four players have reached double digits in points, led by Krista LaMaina, who has 12 goals and five assists for 29 points ... She is ninth in the nation in goals per game (1.71) and seventh in points per game (4.14) ... In goal, Katie DiCarlo is 10th in save percentage (.923).

LAST SEASON VS. KEAN: In mid-October in Union, N.J., Kean made a third minute goal by Bridgette Bottinelli stand up for a 1-0 win ... The Cougars got the ball into the circle in transition, and Marissa Robinson fed a pass across to the left side for Bottinelli, who banged in her eighth goal of the season ... RPI's Hannah Clough made 10 saves and Kean's Katie DiCarlo recorded her third shutout (2 saves).
