GENEVA, N.Y. -
Sebastian Castillo-Sanchez has won all eight of his matches, including four on Sunday to advance to the finals in doubles and semifinals in singles of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Tournament being held at Hobart College. The freshman is teamed with classmate
Zack Ebenfeld in doubles.
In Sunday's third round of singles, Castillo-Sanchez (Wesley Chapel, FL / Wiregrass Ranch) defeated Michael Feldman of Stevens Institute of Technology, 6-1, 6-0. He then knocked off Danny Polk, also of Stevens, 6-1, 6-1 in the quarterfinals and faces top seeded Kai Yuen Leung of Skidmore College in Monday's semifinals.
Junior
Tristan Wise (Lakeway, TX / Lake Travis) also competed in the third round, but lost to Hobart's Jonathan Atwater, 6-2, 6-2.
In doubles, Castillo-Sanchez and Ebenfeld (Pembroke Pines, FL / American Heritage) beat a duo from Ithaca College, 8-3, in the quarterfinals and then defeated Kyle Henry and Kyle Cenderelli of Stevens, 8-6, in the semis. Castillo-Sanchez and Ebenfeld face Polk and Feldman in the championship match.
Action is scheduled to begin at 9am on Monday with singles semifinals first. Should Castillo-Sanchez advance to the singles final, that will be played and then the doubles final will take the court.
