THE KICKOFF
Rensselaer comes off a bye week and travels to Springfield for a Liberty League contest at 12pm. The game is the final road contest for the Engineers, who are 3-1 away from Troy this season. Springfield, which was also idle last week, has won four of its last six games.
THE SERIES
The Engineers have played the Pride 10 times in school history and have a 4-6-0 record. RPI won the first meeting, sixth matchup and the last two year's contests. Six of the games have been played in Western Massachusetts.

Over the past four meetings, the teams have been separated by a total of seven points with Springfield holding a 104-103 advantage.
COMMON OPPONENTS
RPI and Springfield have both played WPI, St. Lawrence, Rochester and Hobart. The Engineers beat Rochester (51-13) and Hobart (21-17), while the Pride defeated the Yellowjackets (70-47) and WPI (28-23).

Rensselaer is seventh in the Liberty League in scoring offense (23.1 points per game) and second in scoring defense (18.1 points allowed per game). Springfield is fifth in scoring offense (24.9) and seventh in scoring defense (23.5).

Christian Kapp, who is 8 of 9 on field goals and 23 of 23 on point-after-touchdowns, is sixth in the Liberty League in overall scoring at 5.9 points per game. Among kickers, he is second. Kapp is also second in field goals made per game (1.0).

UPCOMING
The Engineers host Union College in the Dutchman Shoes Trophy Game - the oldest college football rivalry in New York State - next Saturday at noon at East Campus Stadium. The game, the season finale for both teams, is Senior Day for Rensselaer's student-athletes.
