TROY, N.Y. — The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) football program has announced the promotion of
Pete Palczewski to Offensive Coordinator, elevating a key piece of the Engineers' recent offensive surge as the team continues to build on one of the top-scoring seasons in the Liberty League.
"I am grateful to Head Coach
Ralph Isernia to serve as the Offensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator for this program," said Coach Palczewski. "I am ready to get to work."
Palczewski, who joined the RPI sidelines in the spring of 2024, has spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach working primarily with the wide receivers while contributing to the development and implementation of an Engineers' offensive scheme that paced the Liberty League with 51 total touchdowns and 35.5 points per game in 2025.
"We're proud to announce the promotion of
Pete Palczewski to Offensive Coordinator for RPI Football," said Coach Isernia. "Pete has earned this opportunity through his relentless work ethic, his loyalty to our program, and his ability to connect with and develop our student-athletes.He understands what it means to represent RPI both on and off the field. His football IQ, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence align perfectly with the direction we're heading as a program. Most importantly, our players believe in him. Pete brings energy, creativity, and a clear vision for how we want to attack offensively. I'm excited to see him lead our offense and continue building something special here at RPI."
A veteran of the Liberty League as both a player and coach, Palczewski brings a deep understanding of the conference and its competitive demands. He played quarterback at Ithaca College, appearing in 12 games for the Bombers and producing several notable performances, including a career-best 300-yard passing game against RPI during the 2018 season.
After graduating, Palczewski continued to build his coaching résumé at the collegiate level, serving as the Offensive Quality Control Coach at the University of Pennsylvania in 2022 and later as Co-Offensive Coordinator at Westminster College prior to arriving in Troy.
