THE KICKOFF
After starting the season with a 31-17 win at Norwich last weekend, the Engineers dropped a home game against Alfred last Saturday, 33-17 ... RPI makes its first trip ever to Cambridge to face MIT in its final non-conference contest of the regular season ... The Engineers are 0-2. 

ALL-TIME SEASON SERIES
This is just the second time RPI and MIT have played each other in football ... RPI won last season's inaugural meeting, 42-7, at East Campus Stadium in Troy.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
Through the first two weeks of the 2016 campaign, RPI averages 215.0 rushing yards per game with four touchdowns and only 70.5 passing yards with one TD throw ... MIT, meanwhile, averages 225.5 passing yards per game with four touchdowns and only 81.0 rushing yards ... The Engineers have not registered a touchdown from its ground game to this point.

RPI WEEK ONE
RPI ran for 244 yards and intercepted three passes to defeat Norwich, 31-17, in the opener at Sabine Field in Vermont ... RPI junior Mike Tivinis led all rushers with 22 carries for 110 yards and a score, while Ethan Wells went for 66 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown ... Sophomore Eddie Trimpert was 5 of 16 passing for 61 yards in his first collegiate start ... Senior captain Alexander Greenidge had a game-high nine tackles, while five different Engineers recorded sacks.

RPI WEEK TWO
Senior quarterback Tyler Johnson rushed for 120 yards and threw for 198 more with two touchdowns to lead Alfred to a 33-17 victory over RPI at East Campus Stadium ... The Saxons, who led 27-0 at halftime, snapped the Engineers' six-game winning streak ... Bryan Hayes, a junior safety, had 14 tackles (7 unassisted) and senior Alexander Greenidge recorded 13 stops (6 unassisted) for RPI ... Offensively, junior Mike Tivinis rushed for 75 yards on 13 carries, while classmate Johnny Ramsdell, a wide receiver, ran for 25 yards on four attempts and caught five passes for 48 yards and the touchdown ... Eddie Trimpert was 8 of 16 for 80 yards under center.

MIT TO DATE
The Engineers were beaten in their first two games - both at home - by a total of 10 points, losing 37-34 in overtime to WPI in week one and 17-10 to Becker last week ... Udgam Goyal leads the offense (47 for 81, 451 yards, 4 TDs) and Kodiak Brush paces the defense (16 tackles).

FAMILIAR FACE 
The Engineers of MIT are coached by Chad Martinovich, who is in his eighth year in Cambridge following a four-year stint with the Engineers of RPI ... He joined the RPI coaching staff in 2004 as the offensive coordinator and the quarterbacks coach ... He became the coordinator of the Engineers' defensive corps the following year, helping RPI rank first in the Liberty League three straight years while the team qualified for the NCAA Playoffs in 2007 ... During his tenure, RPI was crowned ECAC Bowl Champions three times.
