MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The freshman duo of Zack Ebenfeld and Winston Yu won their first two doubles matches as a tandem and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) teammates have advanced to the semifinals of the A Flight in the Middlebury College Invitational. Each of RPI's other participants have been eliminated, though several advanced past the first round.

Ebenfeld and Yu won their first match by upending the second seeded team, a pair from Skidmore College, 8-6. They then defeated a team from Bates College, 8-4, and will face a duo from Middlebury in the semifinals on Sunday. Also moving through the first round was Gabe Osio and Alex Lee, who won their B Flight doubles match, 8-1. 

Ebenfeld also advanced in singles, defeating an opponent from Bates in the first round in the C Flight, 6-2, 3-6, 10-4, before bowing out. In the D Flight, junior Sundar Devakottai won his first round match, 6-2, 6-0, over an opponent from Bates. 

Junior Tristan Wise earned a victory in the A Flight singles, beating a student-athlete from Skidmore, 6-4, 1-6, 10-2. 

Action continues on Sunday beginning at 9am. There is no back-draw in this event.
