Engineers welcome Maine to the Houston Field House for two this weekend

Rensselaer hosts Maine for a two-game series at the Houston Field House on Friday (6pm) and Saturday (2:30pm).
ALL-TIME VS. MAINE
The Engineers are 4-3-2 against the Black Bears, dating back to their inaugural meeting on January 28, 1996 - a 3-3 tie in Orono. RPI took a four-game unbeaten streak into the team's most recent meeting last year, before falling 2-0.
2016-17 VS. THE BLACK BEARS
RPI split a two-game set to open last season, beating Maine, 3-1, in the season opener, before falling, 2-0. Laura Horwood had a goal and an assist to pace the Engineers, while Lovisa Selander had 25 and 29 saves, respectively in the two contests.
ENGINEERS SWEPT AT OHIO STATE
The Buckeyes jumped out to 4-0 leads in both games of a two-game series last weekend to earn a weekend sweep. Whitney Renn netted RPI's only goal, while Lovisa Selander turned away 73, which was the second most in the nation.
MAINE SPLITS WITH QUINNIPIAC
The Black Bears dropped their season opener to the Bobcats on Friday (2-1), before bouncing back to earn a win on Saturday (4-2). Tereza Vanisova had a game-high three points (1 goal, 2 assists) for Maine, with Carly Jackson had 32 saves in the win. 
TOP RETURNERS FOR RPI
The Engineers bring back four of their top five scorers from a season ago, including senior Shayna Tomlinson (6 goals, 11 assists), who had 17 points and sophomore Sabrina Repaci (9 goals, 7 assists), with 16.
GOALTENDERS
Juniors Lovisa Selander (10-22-2; 2.78 GAA; .917 SV% in 2016-17) and Kira Bombay (0-2-0; 5.37; .867) back for 2017-18 and are joined by freshman Jenn Gregg between the pipes.
