LATHAM, N.Y. - Senior Kai Yuen Leung won at first flight singles and doubles to help lead the Skidmore College men's tennis team to a 7-2 victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) on Saturday at TriCity Fitness. With the win, the Thoroughbreds improve to 5-5 on the season, while the Engineers drop to 4-5.
Leung (Sha Ting, Hong Kong/La Salle College) paired up with freshman John Wynne (Indianapolis, IN/North Central) to take home a 8-2 win over RPI freshmen
Sebastian Castillo-Sanchez (Wesley Chapel, FL/Wiregrass Ranch) and Zach Ebenfield (Pembroke Pines, FL/American Heritage). Leung also defeated Castillo-Sanchez in singles play, 6-3, 6-2.
Ebenfield picked up a victory at fifth singles for Rensselaer, while classmate
Winston Yu (San Ramon, CA/Dougherty Valley) and junior Sundar Devakottai (Sugar Land, TX/Stephen F. Austin) came away with win at third doubles, 8-3.
The Engineers are back in action next Sunday, when they visit St. Lawrence (TBD). Skidmore hosts Stevens next Sunday (1pm).
