CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team got victories at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles, but those were the only wins RPI could muster in falling at No. 22 MIT in a non-league match.
The freshmen duo of
Sebastian Castillo-Sanchez and
Zack Ebenfeld pulled the visitors to within 2-1 with an 8-6 win, but the Engineers answered by winning each of the first four singles matches for a 6-1 lead.
RPI (9-6) freshman
Xavier Oshinowo won at No. 2 for Rensselaer, 6-7 (2), 6-2, 10-5, which saw its winning streak snapped at five matches.
