BOSTON, Mass. - The 4x400 team of
Evan O'Berg,
Jason Hall,
Neil Casimir and
Dale Kelly earned victory and four others had top three finishes for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's track & field team, which began the season at the UMass Boston Indoor Opener.
RPI's 4x400 squad finished in 3:27.56, which was nearly two seconds ahead of the runner-up in the finals. There were 25 total teams in the event.
Kelly, a junior, had a runner-up finish in the 200 meter dash, while Casimir finished fifth in the 400. Sophomore
Ben Ertel was second in the 800 and Matthew Guitierrez was third in the 1000 and sixth in the mile. Temedayo Kamson was fourth in the 60-meter dash and 10th in the 200.
The top field performer for the Engineers was Joe Vetere, who finished third in the pole vault.
John Gonzalez was sixth in the shot put.
