ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team won each of the doubles matches in decisive fashion and the Engineers followed by sweeping the singles in defeating RIT, 9-0, at Midtown Athletic Club. RPI won for the second time on the weekend to improve to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the conference. The Tigers fall to 2-5 and 0-3.
Following the doubles victories, freshman Andrew Imrie and Ben Lynaugh waged a tremendous match at No. 2 singles. Lynaugh won the first set, 6-3, before Imrie won set two, 6-2. The third set went to a tiebreaker with Imrie emerging victorious, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (10-6). The No. 3 singles match was also tight with Zack Ebenfield prevailing, 7-6 (9-7), 6-4.
