WILTON, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team held a 2-1 lead after doubles, but the No. 27 Engineers saw No. 26 Skidmore College win four of the singles matches to capture the Liberty League contest, 5-4.
Senior
McKinley Grimes and sophomore
Zack Ebenfeld both earned a pair of victories on the day. After combining to win at No. 2 doubles, 8-5, they each won their respective singles matches. Grimes won at No. 5, 7-6 (4), 6-3 and Ebenfeld won at No. 6, 6-4, 6-4. Freshman
Brian Niguidula played a third set at No. 4, but could not prevail, losing 4-6, 7-6 (1), 6-3.
RPI is now 7-2 overall and 2-1 in the conference, while the Thoroughbreds are 7-3 and 5-0.
