Field Hockey Home Stand Continues on Friday

GAMEDAY: The Engineers play their third straight home game with the University of Rochester serving as the opposition for a Liberty League matchup.

HOME STRETCH: Rensselaer has four more games in the regular season following its tilt with the Yellowjackets ... It plays two on the road (William Smith & St. Lawrence) and two at home (Skidmore & Oneonta).

FIVE STRAIGHT: RPI is in the midst of five straight Liberty League contests.

ALL-TIME VS. ROCHESTER: Rensselaer is 12-12 all-time against the Yellowjackets with 13 of those meetings coming in Troy ... RPI is 9-4 at home against Rochester.

IN CONFERENCE: Each of the 24 meetings between the Engineers and Yellowjackets have been league games.

LAST FIVE: Rochester has won four of the last five head-to-head contests with Rensselaer.

Kate Kujawa had two saves in the win, while Rachel Kaufman stopped 13 shots for RPI ... Taylor Clink added two defensive saves for the Engineers.

RPI ON SATURDAY: Junior Katie Talacci had a goal and an assist to lead Union to a 2-1 victory over Rensselaer ... She opened the scoring 7:25 into the second quarter when she knocked the ball in through traffic from close range ... Cristina Boudreau made it 2-0 just under five minutes later when she finished a feed from Talacci ... Rensselaer freshman Brianna Duba pulled RPI to within 2-1 when she carried the ball into the circle and scored on a reverse hit from just inside the arc ... RPI held the lead in both shots (17-11) and penalty corners (13-4) ... Rensselaer's Jen Richardson and Union's Mary Beth Rudolf both had two saves.

SCORESHEET: Eight different Engineers have at least one goal this season and four have registered at least one assist ... Senior captain Charisse Stakutis leads the squad with 46 shots and 28 shots on goal. 

LEAGUE LEADER: Rensselaer freshman goalkeeper Jen Richardson leads the Liberty League in saves with 120 and saves per game with 10.00.

DEFENSIVE SAVES: Mikayla Berman and Emma Lewis share the team lead in defensive saves with two each.

COMMON OPPONENTS: Rensselaer and Rochester have three common opponents in Utica, New Paltz and Nazareth ... RPI lost to each, while the Yellowjackets are 2-1 with the lone loss coming at New Paltz in overtime.

YELLOWJACKETS ON TUESDAY: Rochester got goals from eight players with sophomore Nikki Mercer scoring three times with four assists in defeating Wells 13-0 ... Freshman Karina Bridger added four goals and Susan Bansbach, also a freshman, scored once with three assists.
