LATHAM, N.Y. - The No. 33 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team came out of the doubles with a 2-1 lead, but No. 10 Brandeis University captured five of the six singles matches and the Judges defeated the Engineers 6-3 in a match at Tri-City Fitness. Brandeis is now 7-1, while RPI falls to 3-3.
The visitors went ahead 1-0 with a win at No. 2 doubles, but Rensselaer's top team of
Andrew Imrie and
Sebastian Castillo-Sanchez won at No. 1 and the No. 3 tandem of
Dylan Payne and
Zack Ebenfeld won in a tiebreak.Â
A 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles by Rensselaer's
Clay Thompson made it a 3-1 score, but the Judges won the final five matches, including No. 3 and No. 4 in three sets.
