LATHAM, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team lost just 12 games in both doubles and singles as the No. 33 Engineers defeated Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) 9-0 in a Liberty League match at Tri City Fitness. RPI improves to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in the conference, while the Tigers drop to 4-6 and 0-5.
Rensselaer swept the doubles by a combined score of 24-9 with the closest match coming at No. 1, which Rensselaer's
Sebastian Castillo-Sanchez and
Andrew Imrie won, 8-4. Â
In singles, the Engineers won the matches at No. 1, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 with 6-0, 6-0 scores.
