MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis doubles team of
Zack Ebenfeld and
Dylan Payne advanced to the semifinals of the Middlebury Invitational, but the tandem lost on Sunday, 8-3.
Ebenfeld, a senior, and Payne, a sophomore, faced Tufts junior Boris Sorkin and freshman Josh Belandres in the B Flight, but lost 8-3. The duo from the Jumbos went on to win the tournament with an 8-7 (4) win in the final over a team from Brandeis, which was seeded fourth entering the tournament.
Rensselaer is now idle until September 27 when it begins play in the ITA Championship.
