Favorite sports memory during career?
"Playing Cornell in the playoffs my junior year. We had an unbelievable series against them. I will never forget that team and how each of us felt after beating a first place team in their own building." - March 2020
What makes Rensselaer so special?
"RPI is so special because of the community atmosphere and the people we are surrounded by daily. I have never been a part of a more supportive program, whether it be from fellow athletes, staff, trainers, and even professors. It's amazing to see how close-knit the school is as a whole." - March 2020
What are your post-graduation plans?
"In August I will be moving to Chicago to work for Capgemini, a consulting company that provides technology, professional, and outsourcing services to clients." - March 2020
From the coaching staff:
"Meg is all team. She was the heart of our program. Beloved by her teammates, she would do anything for anyone. During her junior year we were short on defense and asked her to switch positions. Having played forward her entire life, it was a major change, but Meg embraced the challenge and was one of our top defenseman that season, leading our program to one of our most successful ECAC Hockey seasons. During her senior year we used Meg as both a forward and defenseman, sometimes switching positions within the same game. Typically after practice, players like to work on skills such as shooting, passing and scoring. Meg would grab a teammate or coach and work on shot blocking. She did all the hard and gritty things to help her team have success, all about sacrificing for others. I have never coached a player with more heart than Meg, who was an absolute joy to coach because of her infectious energy and team-first mentality. Meg was the ultimate teammate who left our program in a better place." - March 2020
What others say:
"Her persistence and resilience was inspiring. She was supportive of her teammates and always wanted them to succeed." - April 2020
"Meg was my summer buddy and she helped me with everything I could possibly ask for. She cares about her peers and works very hard. She was a great assistant captain, I will miss her!" - April 2020
"Meg is one of the most supportive people and always knows the right thing to say. She's there to give advice and just put a smile on your face." - April 2020
"Our team motto is "Tough Together" and Meg embodies that in everything she does. She always brought a positive energy to our team, and would be there to pick us up when we were down. She faces challenges with an open mind and is the person that we could all look up to. I know that her resilience and leadership will only lead to success in her future." - April 2020
"Meg was extremely welcoming to me as a freshman right from the start. She was always willing to answer any questions I had on and off the ice with sincerity and honesty. Meg was the glue that held our team together. She held people accountable for their actions only with the intentions of care and love. She was a great friend and I couldn't have asked for a better senior and captain." - April 2020
"Although Megan is one of the smallest on the ice, she definitely doesn't play like it. She is a "hard-nosed, blue-collared" tough player, and makes such a huge difference in the pace and intensity of the game. I'm going to miss her constant support and her leadership very much next year!" - April 2020
