Distance ... Competed in 500, 800, 1500, mile, 3000, 400H and 3000S in career ... College-best 2:02.81 in 800 at Utica as senior ... Career-best 9:42.22 in Steeplechase at Liberty League Championship as junior ... Mechanical Engineering major ... Dean's Honor List.

Favorite sports memory during career?
"Standing on the podium next to my best friends after the Liberty League home meet. Even though it was raining, and dreary, and not the outcome we had hoped for, RPI had a solid sweep of the event, and I wouldn't have wanted to stand there with anyone else." - April 2020

What makes Rensselaer so special?
"The commitment to the craft. At a school where we are bombarded with work and stress at every angle, the special element was the dedication to the sport that shone through everyday at practice." - April 2020

What are your post-graduation plans?
"Working as a biomed engineer in California at Edwards LifeSciences, and competing with any track club that will let me." - April 2020

From the coaching staff:
"Dan's determination to be on the team was second to none. He has battled through health issues and pushed his body past many road blocks to try and change his focus in track to distance running from sprinting/hurdling. I am so happy that he was able to learn the steeple chase and become a scoring member of the team his junior year. I was looking forward to seeing him in year two of steepling as he had put in a lot of good work in the last year; I have no doubt he would have helped the team once again, and really that's all he has really ever wanted to do." - May 2020
