TROY, N.Y. - For the fourth straight year, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will host a Student-Athlete Career Networking Fair, though this year's event will be held virtually. The event, being held in conjunction with Rensselaer's Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) is scheduled for Thursday from 6:30-9:30pm (Eastern) via the Handshake platform.
More than 50 companies will provide time to present overviews and 1-on-1 conversations with prospective employees and interns. They include Activ Surgical, Amphenol RF, BAE Systems, Bank of America, BBL Construction Services, LLC, BD, Bouchey & Clarke Benefits Inc., Bristol Myers Squibb, Clark Nexsen, Edwards Lifesciences, Ernst & Young, Extreme Molding, Federal Aviation Administration, Geiger Engineers, Genesys, Ingersoll Rand, Jahnel Group, Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, McFarland Johnson, Inc., Milone & MacBroom, Momentive Performance Materials, Northwestern Mutual, Procter & Gamble, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Snap-on, Solli Engineering, Stryker, Trane Technologies, WL Gore & Associates, YETI and Zones.
Many of the representatives from the businesses are former Rensselaer student-athletes themselves.
In order to participate, Rensselaer student-athletes must be set up with Handshake, register for the fair and sign up for one of the 655 time slots available or company overview sessions.
To register for the SAAC Career Networking Fair:
1.) Set-up an account on Handshake at
https://app.joinhandshake.com/login. After inputting an RPI RCS ID, Handshake will ask a series of questions to personalize each account. Additional information can be provided by editing a profile.
2.) Upload a resume. Once on Handshake, find the 'Document' section in the upper right corner of the page to upload.
3.) Sign up for the SAAC Career Networking Fair by clicking
HERE. Upon registering the 'Available sessions' tab on the events page provides sign-up slots with individual employers.
