WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Senior
Joey Harrigan shot a 1-under, 70 to propel the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) golf team up three spots for a fourth place finish at the Williams College Fall Invitational at Taconic Golf Club. The Engineers shot a 298 on Sunday, which was an 8-shot improvement from the first round, to finish with a two-day total of 604.
Harrigan finished one shot under par with the help of five birdies and nine pars. He did not shoot anything over a bogey through his 18 holes in taking five strokes off his Saturday score.
Freshman
Jacob Lindsay followed his first round 74 with a 77 to finish at +9, 151, which tied for 18th place. He had a birdie and 11 pars in Sunday's round. Third on RPI were sophomore
Matt Buckley and
Thomas Fraser, both of whom finished +12, 154. Buckley was 5-over on the day, while Fraser, who had four birdies, was one shot better.
Babson College finished at -8, 560 for the tournament to win by 35 strokes. The Beavers had the individual medalist and four of the top five finishers. Trinity was second at 595, followed by Skidmore at 597.
