NFF Honor Society Selects Nine From Engineers

TROY, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) football team boasts nine student-athletes who have earned induction into the National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame 2022 Hampshire Honor Society.

In order to be considered, 
  • Nominees must have completed their final year of playing eligibility in Fall 2021.
  • Nominees must have attained a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0 scale).
  • Nominees must meet all NCAA/NAIA-mandated progress towards degree requirements.
  • Nominees must have been starters or significant contributors throughout the 2021 season.
Each of Rensselaer's honorees played major roles throughout the team's 2021 campaign, which saw the Engineers 
  • Tie the school record for wins in a season (11-2), including 6-0 at home and with victories over three nationally-ranked opponents.
  • Win the Transit Trophy, 24-10 at WPI.
  • Win the Dutchman Shoes Trophy, 19-17 at Union.
  • Earn the Liberty League title (5-1) - its third in the last four years.
  • Earn its seventh consecutive playoff appearance - the longest streak in school history.
  • Advance to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Playoffs - for the second time in three seasons.
  • Finish ranked No. 13 in the final D3football.com Poll.
  • Finish ranked No. 14 in the final American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Poll.
