TROY, N.Y. – ECAC Hockey announced that women's hockey senior
Hannah Price and men's hockey junior
John Beaton have both been named nominees for the inaugural Wayne Dean Sportsmanship Award. In addition, Price had been named one of three finalists for the award.
A junior, Beaton has put up a 3.80 GPA as a Business & Management major. Beaton has taken care of things in the classroom, scoring an ECAC Hockey All-Academic and AHCA All-American Scholar award. On the ice, Beaton has scored two goals and six assists for eight points.
Price has a full resume with academic achievements, culminating with a 3.75 career GPA. An Economics and Sustainability Studies dual major, Price is a multiple Dean's List and ECAC Hockey All-Academic selection. Earlier this year, she earned her second nomination and named finalist for the Hockey Humanitarian Award. In addition, she was named a nominee for the ECAC Scholar Athlete Award.
Price is a recipient of the Bill Cahill Memorial Award and third place winner in RPI's McKinney Writing Contest. On the ice, Price was the leading defenseman for the Engineers this season with five goals and two assists over 34 games. She appeared in 100 career games for RPI, scoring seven goals and eight assists for 15 career points.
Beaton and the men's team return home to the Houston Field House this Saturday, March 4 at 7 p.m. when they host Yale in the opening round of the ECAC Men's Hockey Championship, while the women's team concluded their 2022-23 season with a 9-24-1 overall record and 4-17-1 record in ECAC Hockey play.
