WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) golf team finished in sixth place among 19 teams at the Williams Invitational with a 19-over par 303 score.
Anthony Chen led the Engineers for the second straight day. The junior, started on hole five, birdied holes 5, 13, 1 and 4 to shoot 3-over par 74, good for fourth place overall among 90 players.
Graduate student Jacob Lindsay was next with a 5-over par 76, earning him an 18th place finish. Matt Buckley shot 5-over 76 and Junior Alex Weller shot 6-over par 77 to complete the scoring. Owen Himmer rounded out the roster with a 13-over par 84.
Coach Matt McGarvey said "The golf course continued to show its teeth, with dry, fast greens and a tricky breeze today. Chenny continued his stellar play and was a bright spot for the Engineers."
The Engineers head next to Williamsport, Pennsylvania September 28th & 29th for the Northeast Elite hosted by Penn State Altoona.
