WELLESLEY, MA- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team started the spring campaign with an afternoon match versus Babson today.

Aiden Drover-Mattinen, Archit Yemula, and Andy Zhu each claimed singles victories for the Engineers in a tight battle that saw the Beavers earn the narrow team win after claiming two of the three doubles matches.

Drover-Mattinen set the tone for RPI with a come-from-behind win in three sets (1-6, 7-5, 6-0) in top-seeded play.

Yemula followed with a straight-set triumph (6-3, 7-6) in the #2 slot and Zhu won 6-2, 6-2 as the four seed. Zhu also paired with Drover-Mattinen to claim a 6-3 victory in RPI's lone triumph in doubles play.

The Engineers next face MIT tomorrow at 2:00pm.
