Box Score LATHAM, NY - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team earned a 7-0 sweep versus NYU today inside TriCity this evening. The Engineers won 12 of the 14 sets in singles matches in addition to taking all three doubles tilts.
Aiden Drover-Mattinen claimed a 7-5, 7-5 victory in #1 singles, while
Archit Yemula (3-6, 6-3, 1-0) and
Andy Zhu (6-4,6-7,1-0) outlasted their opponents for three-set wins.
Tsubi Okada (6-0, 6-0),
Tasmay Shah (6-1, 6-0), and
Nico Luis (6-4, 6-0) each rolled to straight set triumphs as well.
Drover-Mattinen and Zhu would also take a 7-6 win along the top doubles line, which was followed by respective 7-6 wins by the pairings of
Joel McCandless / Okada and
Quoc-Uy Vo / Yemula.
The Engineers will next face the College of New Jersey tomorrow at 2:00 pm at TriCity.
