MALVERN, Pa. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's golf team competed over two days at the Swarthmore Invitational, held at White Manor Country Club (Par 71), finishing 11th out of 16 teams with a cumulative score of +88 across three rounds.
Leading the way for the Engineers was Zydon Yuan, who delivered a strong overall performance to place 20th with a +13 total. Yuan opened the tournament with rounds of 78 and 77 on Sunday before surging in Monday's final round with an even-par 71, the lowest round by an RPI golfer on the weekend. He highlighted his closing two rounds with seven birdies and an impressive eagle on the 382-yard par-4 10th hole during the final day.
Robert Chuang followed with a consistent three-round effort, finishing 26th overall at +15. Chuang carded rounds of 75, 76, and 77, maintaining steady play throughout the tournament to remain among the top finishers in the field for the Engineers.
Nick Ventura placed 61st overall (+30), posting rounds of 78, 86, and 79, while Patrick Kiernan finished 70th (+35) with scores of 83, 83, and 82. Ryan Komp rounded out the RPI lineup in 72nd place (+36), recording rounds of 81, 83, and 85.
RPI will next compete on April 11 and 12 at Skidmore's Tim Brown Invitational at Ballston Spa Country Club.
