SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College women's soccer team scored single goals in both halves and defeated RPI, 2-1, in Liberty League action on Saturday at Wachenheim Field.  The Thoroughbreds improve to 10-2-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference, while RPI falls to 4-8-1 and 1-3.

Sophomore Elena Stansky (Worcester, MA) got the scoring started for Skidmore when she took Alyssa Miller's (Mill Valley, CA) crossing pass and beat Engineers freshman keeper Melissa Pinsonneault (Hudson, NH/Bishop Guertin) at the 23:34 mark for her fourth goal of the season.

The Thoroughbreds pushed their lead to two goals when Kelsey Yam (Longmeadow, MA) took a pass that deflected off an RPI defender and she found herself one-on-one with Pinsonneault. The goal was Yam's first as a collegian.

The Engineers cut the deficit to one on Jacquelyn Garlasco's (Paramus, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) header off a Nikki Goodsell (Danbury, CT/Danbury) corner kick at the 62:30 mark. Skidmore goalie Meghan Sleezer (Gloversville, NY) appeared to make the save but the ball crossed the goal line as she landed.

RPI and the Thoroughbreds had seven shots a piece. Sleezer made three saves for Skidmore and Pinsonneault had two for the Engineers.
