Delello delivers go-ahead two-out double as RPI improve to 3-0

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Sophomore Markus Delello (Sidney, NY/Sidney) came through with a two-out base-hit in the top of the 11th inning, to give the Rensselaer baseball team a 4-3 victory over Webster on the team's Spring Trip. With the win, the Engineers improve to 3-0 on the young season, while the Gorloks fall to 2-1.

Senior pitcher Andrew Mondo (Clifton Park, NY/Schenendehowa) took the no-decision, surrendering three runs (2 earned) on four hits in 8.0 innings, while striking out 10. Freshman Christian Biederman (Saratoga, CA/Saratoga) threw the final 3.0 inning to get his first collegiate victory. He struck out three, while giving up just a single hit.

Delello finished 2 for 4 with two runs batted in. Senior Patrick Reardon (Troy, NY/LaSalle Institute) went 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Classmate Andrew Krushelnyski (Bloomfield Hills, MI/Brother Rice) and junior Billy Nikolski (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) each picked up a pair of hits in five at bats.
