WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Williams scored four runs in the third inning to erase a 5-1 deficit and then plated six runs over the next three innings on its way to an 11-5 victory over Rensselaer in a non-league baseball game at Bobby Coombs Field.  The Ephs improve to 18-10, while the Engineers, who got multiple hits by three different players, fall to 17-11.

RPI jumped out to a 5-1 lead with three runs in the first inning and two more in the second.  Rensselaer's first five batters reached base to start the game with Andrew Kalish (Clifton Park, NY / Shenendehowa) and Chuck Erickson (Mansfield, MA / Mansfield) knocking in runs with singles.  Senior Billy Nikolski (Burnt Hills, NY / Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) also drove in a run with a fielders' choice and the Engineers led by three.

Williams picked up a run in the bottom of the first inning but RPI answered with two more of its own with the help of a hit by Kyle LaVigne (Ashland, MA / Ashland) - his second of the game - and two stolen bases from its leadoff hitter.  LaVigne also had a steal in the first inning and now has 27 on the season.  Art Levenson (San Diego, CA / University City), RPI's leading hitter, also collected his second hit of the game in as many innings, this time for an RBI.

The homestanding Ephs went quietly in their half of the second but used the four-run third to tie the game.  The big blows were an RBI double by Patrick Blizzard and an RPI error that led to two unearned runs.

Williams scored single runs in the fourth and the fifth innings to take the lead and then plated four more runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by a three-run home run from Blizzard, on its way to the victory.

Alex Sardo (Chatham, NY / Chatham), who came in to start the sixth inning, suffered the loss, while reliever Dan Grossman earned the win for the Ephs.
