Sophomore Kyle Tracy (Plainview, NY/Bethpage) had a home run and a double in the first game leading The College at Brockport Baseball team to a 6-1 victory over Rensselaer in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Pat Thomas Stadium in Leesburg, Florida. Rensselaer rebounded to post a 3-1 victory in the nightcap.

Tracy's home run was a blast over the right centerfield wall with one out in the bottom of the first inning which tied the game after Rensselaer (1-3) had scored in the top of the inning to open the scoring.

The game remained tied at 1-1 until the fifth inning when Brockport (5-4) added two more runs to take a 3-1 lead. Designated hitter Michael Moroni (Rochester, NY/Irondequoit) led off the inning with a walk and junior Bryan White (New York, NY/A. Phillip Randolph) was inserted as a pinch runner and stole second. After a sacrifice bunt advanced White to third, Jake Coleman (Hilton, NY/Hilton) reached base on a throwing error allowing White to score from third. Tracy followed with a double to deep right centerfield and Coleman scored from first for the 3-1 lead.

In the sixth inning, the Golden Eagles added three more runs to extend the lead. Mike Weakley (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) and Pete Wilson (Rochester, NY/Irondequoit) each singled to open the inning and White converted the sacrifice bunt to advance the runners to second and third. Stephen Boronczyk (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran) lifted a sacrifice fly to left field to score Weakley and Jamie Boronczyk (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran) lifted a ball to right field that was dropped allowing Wilson to score from second. After Tracy walked, Corey Booth (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) reached on an error allowing a third run to score for a 6-1 Brockport lead.

Tracy had two of Brockport's four hits in the game and Aaron Tilley (Troy, NY/Troy) started and allowed just one run on five hits with six strikeouts.

In game two, Rensselaer took another first inning lead with a single run with a walk, stolen base, a single and a sacrifice fly in the first three batters of the bottom of the first inning.

Brockport answered in the second inning tying the game at 1-1 when Weakley opened the inning with a double and scored two batters later after consecutive ground outs. In the fifth inning, Rensselaer took the lead after the leadoff batter reached by a hit-by-pitch and scored after a sacrifice bunt and two consecutive singles. The Engineers added a third run in the sixth when three of the first four batters in the inning each singled.
