Baseball Concludes Season With Tourney Loss

Engineers fall to Skidmore, 8-3

Box Score CANTON, N.Y. - The Rensselaer baseball team dropped its final game of the season, 8-3, to Skidmore in the Liberty League Tournament. The Engineers conlcude their season with a 23-20 overall record, including a 19-9 mark in Liberty League play.

Zack Rudman (6-3) gutted out seven innings for the win, allowing three runs on six hits with seven stike outs. Isaac Forman tossed two innings of shutout relief for the save.

Rudman helped himself out at the plate, going 2-5 with two runs and an RBI double. Brian Lowry was 3-5 with an RBI and Leejay Pollacchi went 2-5. Jesse Frehling also had a pair of hits from the number nine slot.

The Engineers were led offensively by sophomore second baseman Andrew Kalish, who went 2 for 3 with walk and a run batted in. Senior Kyle LaVigne went 2 for 5 with a run scored.

RPI beat the Thoroughbreds in tournament's first game, but Skidmore came through when it counted most, staving off elimination to play for the team's second league title in the past three years.
