Freshman Dawson Tefft (West Granby, CT/Granby) brought the Fighting Scots to within 3-2 in the bottom of the second, rolling one to second, which plated junior Alex German (Brimfield, IL/Peoria Christian).
Rensselaer added a pair of insurance runs in to the top of the fifth. Freshman
Matt Lawrence (Chicago, IL/U. of Chicago High School) drove in one with a groundout, before junior
Tyler Listing (West Sand Lake, NY/Averill Park) knocked in another with a single.
Gallagher allowed two runs on six hits to pick up his first win of the season. He struck out two and walked four. Freshman Roland LaPointe (Leominster, MA/Leominster) was saddled with the loss, surrendering three runs (2 earned) on four hits in 4.0 innings.
