WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – RPI defeated Williams, 15-3, in a non-conference midweek game today at Williams' Bobby Coombs Field.  With the win, the Engineers move to 17-10 on the season, while the Ephs fall to 8-13.

RPI capitalized on an eight-run second inning in the game. Sophomore Nick Annunziata highlighed the outburst with a grand slam, following a two-run double from junior Nick Palmiero and a sacrifice fly by senior Al Mersman.

Williams answered with three in the bottom half, as David Rosas and Jack Roberts each came away with run-scoring hits.

The Engineers added runs in the third, fourth, seventh, and ninth to secure the win. Juniors Tyler Listing and Tim LeSuer delivered RBI-singles in the third and fourth innings, respectively, while senior Shane Matthews drove in a run with an opposite field single in the seventh.

RPI reliever Greg Echeverria (1-0) got the win after working 2.2 scoreless and striking out six.  Williams starter Arnie Capute (0-2) took the loss.  Offensively, Tyler Listing was 3-4 with three runs batted for Rensselaer.  For Williams, Jack Cloud had two hits, and Jack Roberts drove in two.

Williams returns to action Wednesday, April 22 at 4:00 to visit Skidmore, their second Liberty League opponent in as many days.  RPI also plays another midweek game, as they host Western New England Thursday, April 24 at 4:30.
