MID-WEEK LEAGUE RESPITE: Rensselaer takes a break from Liberty League action to host a pair of non-league games against Williams College and Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday (4pm) and Thursday (4:30pm), respectively.

ENGINEERS SWEEP BARD: RPI took all four games in the season series from Bard College last week, sweeping a home doubleheader, 5-3 and 13-1, before winning two in Annandale-on-Hudson, 4-3 and 13-0 ... The Engineers needed to come back in game one of the series, after falling behind 3-0 ... Jared Jensen got RPI on the board in the third with an RBI-single ... Shane Matthews then brought the hosts even at 3-3 in the fourth with a double to center, which brought home Nick Annunziata ... A solo homer by Jensen put Rensselaer up for good in the fifth, before Matthews added an insurance run in the sixth with a run-scoring single up the middle ... In game two, RPI took advantage of a handful of Raptors miscues  to cruise to a 13-1 victory ... Sophomore Thomas Desmond highlighted the Engineers attack, going 2 for 5 with four RBI ... Rensselaer needed to come-from-behind in game one on Sunday, scoring two in the sixth and two in the seventh to take a 4-1 lead ... Bard pulled two back in the bottom of the seventh, but the Engineers were able to hold on for the win ... In the series finale, RPI used a six-run third to put the game out of reach early ... Jensen was a double shy of hitting for the cycle, going 4 for 5 with a triple, home run, three runs and two RBI.

RENSSELAER BATTING LEADERS: Senior Jared Jensen is batting a team-high .432 (32 for 74) with seven doubles, two triples, five home runs, 30 runs scored and 20 runs batted in ... Sophomore Sam Lawrence is second at .417 (15 for 36) with two doubles, a triple, a home run, six runs and eight RBI ... Senior Tim LeSuer rounds out the top three hitters at .377 (29 for 77) with five doubles, a triple, 28 runs and 18 RBI.

PITCHING LEADERS: Senior Sean Conroy is 3-1 with a 1.13 earned run average in seven starts ... He has 43 strikeouts in 42.0 innings, including three complete game (1 SO) ... Junior Greg Echeverria is 4-1 with a 1.50 ERA in six appearances (5 starts) ... He has 41 Ks and just five walks in 42.0 innings ... Senior Jared Jensen is 2-2 in five apperances (4 starts), compiling a 4.07 ERA in 24.1 innings.

PACING THE EPHS: Sophomore Jack Roberts is batting a team-high .371 (23 for 62) with a double, four triples, 13 runs and 16 runs batted in ... Senior Phil McGovern is second at .333 (20 for 60) with six doubles, a triple, seven runs and 14 RBI ... Freshman Adam Dulsky rounds out the top three hitters at .326 (15 for 46) with six doubles, a triple, eight runs and six RBI ... Williams has used 14 pitchers, including Senior Thomas Murphy, who has a 1-2 record in a team-high 23.0 innings, carrying a 5.09 earned run average.

WEEKLY HONORS: The Liberty League and ECAC have announced their weekly award winners from baseball and Jared Jensen earned Player of the Week from both organizations ... Sean Conroy was selected to the Liberty League's Honor Roll ... Jensen led the Engineers to a 4-0 week, batting a team-high .588 (10 for 17), with a double, a triple, two home runs, six runs and four runs batted in. He had a 1.118 slugging percentage and a .611 on-base percentage. From the hill, he went 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA in his only start, tossing a 7.0-inning complete game. He struck out six without a walk ... Conroy threw a 9.0-inning complete game shutout in his only start last week, striking out a career-high 16, while walking just two ... All four hits were singles as the Engineers defeated Bard, 13-0.
