SCOTTY WHITELAW BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP: The Engineers close out the season with a post-season game against SUNY Maritime as part of the ECAC Division III Football Bowl Championships at Franklin Field in Philadelphia (5pm).

FIRST MEETING: Rensselaer and Maritime have never played in football. Interestingly this matchup comes a week after RPI played Union, a school it has faced a school-record 113 times.

IN POST-SEASON: Sunday marks the 16th time in the past 25 years the Engineers will play in the post-season and its 12th ECAC appearance. RPI, which defeated Buffalo State, 20-13, an ECAC Bowl last year, is 9-2 all-time in ECAC games. Rensselaer has played seven NCAA playoff games, including into the 2003 national semis.

ALL-LIBERTY LEAGUE: Thirteen members of the Engineers were named All-Liberty League. On the First Team are offensive lineman Steve Mills, defensive lineman Malik Joseph, linebacker Alexander Greenidge and defensive backs Ryan Buss and Sean Egan. RPI's Second Team members are running back Mike Tivinis, offensive lineman Chris Neu, kicker Christian Kapp and return specialist Conor Davies. Honorable Mentions include athlete Johnny Ramsdell, wide receiver Keaton Ackermann, offensive lineman Mitchell McDade and defensive lineman Diego Cuitino.

MULTIPLE AWARDS: Steve Mills, a senior center, has been chosen All-Liberty League four times, including First Team each of the last three seasons. Malik Joseph, Alexander Greenidge and Ryan Buss, all seniors, were chosen All-League in 2015 with Joseph and Greenidge on the Second Team and Buss an Honorable Mention.

ELEVENTH GAME: This season marks just the fourth in school history that Rensselaer has played 11 or more games. The 2003 team that advanced to the NCAA Semifinals played 13 contests, finishing 11-2. Last year's Engineers were 9-2 after playing the Asa Bushnell Bowl.

COMMON OPPONENTS: Rensselaer and Martime have only two common opponents in Merchant Marine and Norwich. The Engineers lost to the Mariners, 16-13 (Oct. 15), and defeated Norwich, 31-17 (Sept. 3). The Privateers beat Merchant Marine, 20-16 (Sept. 16), and lost to Norwich, 17-14 (Oct. 29).

RENSSELAER IN NON-CONFERENCE: The Engineers were 2-1 in non-league games, having defeated Norwich (31-17 on Sept. 3) and MIT (31-10 on Sept. 17) and losing to Alfred (33-17 on Sept. 10) - a top seed in the NCAA Playoffs.

ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT: Seven Rensselaer student-athletes were selected to the 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Football Academic All-District™ 3 Division III Team. Those recognized were Ed Trimpert, Johnny Ramsdell, Jim Krecek, Steve Mills, Christian Kapp, Thomas Bennett and Connor McCrum. They are all now on the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, from which first-, second- and third team National Academic All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
