RENSSELAER UPENDS MCLA
The Engineers pounded out 15 hits in topping MCLA, 11-5, in non-conference action at Robison Field on Thursday afternoon ... Austin Lawrence went 2 for 3 with a double and three runs batted in, while Michael Arboleda was 2 for 5 with a run, two RBI and a stolen base ... Chris Grome earned his first collegiate victory on the hill, working 3.0 innings in relief, he allowed a run on four hits, with four strikeouts.

VIOLETS DOWNS CCNY
NYU put up multiple runs in four innings to defeat CCNY, 13-7, on Tuesday ... Coltrane Tait went 5 for 5 with a double, three runs and two runs batted in, while Colman Hendershot was 2 for 4 with three runs and two RBI ... Joseph Prisco (1-0) picked up the victory, allowing one unearned run over 3.0 innings, with three strikeouts and three walks.

SERIES HISTORY
The Engineers won the only previous meeting between the two teams back on March 13, 2002 - a 36-3 victory for RPI in seven innings ... Rensselaer set a number single-game records in that game that still stand today, including runs, hits (38) and doubles (11).
