Sophomore Jake Defayette earned Liberty League performer of the Week after he hit a team-best .667 (8 for 12) in three games, collecting two doubles and six runs scored, with an .833 slugging percentage and a .692 on-base percentage ... He had multiple hits in each contest and multiple runs in all but one ... Classmate Ryan Yerby was an Honor Roll selection, allowing just two hits (both singles) in 4.0 innings of a 7-1 victory over Anna Maria on Tuesday.

MIDDLEBURY OPENS WITH LOSS
