SEPTEMBER 11, 2019 - Having opened the season with a split on the road, the men's soccer team was in the midst of a five-game home stand when national power Williams College visited East Campus Stadium on a Wednesday night. It was the third game in five days for the Engineers, who were looking to increase their modest winning streak to three games. The Ephs, who were playing their first road game of the season, brought a four-game winning streak and just one loss in its last 17 against RPI into the contest.

Rensselaer took the lead late in the first half but Williams tied the game early in the second. The score remained tied until the late stages.

Led by head coach Adam Clinton, RPI qualified for the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Elite 8 - the farthest the program has ever reached - before being defeated at eventual national finalist Amherst College, 3-1.
