TROY, N.Y. - Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Associate Vice President & Director of Athletics Dr. Lee McElroy has announced the addition of Brett Bosley as a Senior Athletics Communications Specialist.

In his role, he is responsible for a variety of communication assignments related to media relations, game coverage, website maintenance, and social media. He will handle the compilation of historical information and records for Rensselaer's 23 varsity athletic programs, while also serving as a liaison with Institute staff, student-athletes, and internal and external constituents, as well as the NCAA, Liberty League, and ECAC Hockey.

Originally from Mooers Forks, N.Y., Bosley joins the Engineers from Siena College, where he was responsible for the promotion and media relations of the women's basketball, volleyball, men's and women's lacrosse, and men's and women's tennis programs. He also assisted with the advancement of new media initiatives, including the usage of NCAA Live Stats, as well as a majority of the department's graphic designs.

Additionally, Bosley played extensive roles with the women's basketball's Pink Zone game, the 2019 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Basektball Tournament and the 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball regional semifinal and final at the MVP Center in Albany.

Bosley joined Siena after three years at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he served as the main media relations contact for the baseball, men's soccer, and women's soccer, while also providing help as a secondary contact for men's basketball, lacrosse, and volleyball. He helped pitch and create graphic, social media, and video content for the Rams, bolstering the program's brand in the Atlantic 10 and NCAA.

He also gained experience as a host at VCU, including with the 2017 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament and 2017 Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Tournament. He traveled with the Rams to the 2016 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament in Oklahoma City and was heavily involved with the Atlantic 10 Baseball Championships.

After his graduation in May of 2014 from Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire, Bosley was hired as his alma mater's first graduate assistant of athletic communications, serving as the main contact for volleyball, men's basketball, softball, bowling, and both men's and women's golf. He also worked with the men's and women's cross country, track & field, and women's basketball teams.

A major contributor with the student-run Pierce Media Group as an undergraduate, Bosley served two years as director of the Ravens Sports Network. He also provided play-by-play coverage for multiple championship-level events, including the first-ever radio coverage of the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Golf Championship when Franklin Pierce hosted in 2013. For his work with RSN and Franklin Pierce's Marlin Fitzwater Center for Communication, Bosley earned the Marlin Fitzwater Medallion for Service to the Public Discourse prior to graduation. The medallion is the highest honor given by the Fitzwater Center to one graduating senior.

Bosley also has experience with the Pack Network broadcast team for the 2013 Northeast-10 Ice Hockey Championship, as an intern, and later media specialist, for the New Hampshire Motor Speedway (2012-15), as an intern with the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League (2012-13), and as a tour guide at Fenway Park for the Boston Red Sox during the summer of 2015.

Bosley is a 2014 graduate of Franklin Pierce with a degree in mass communication. He served on the athletic communication student staff during all four years of his undergraduate career.

He currently resides in Troy with his wife, Susannah.
