MEDFORD, Mass. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) track & field teams had a select number of individuals compete at the Tufts University National Qualifying Meet and the Engineers came away with three top three finishes, including a record-setting performance. The meet was non team scoring.

Luke Lyons, 3)Â
Sean Shannon and 4) Matthew Lecky not only won the event, but did so in a school record time of 9:55.09. The foursome defeated six other squads with what turned out to be the fourth fastest time in Division III this season.
Morgan Lee, a junior distance runner, was second in the women's 3000 meters with a time of 9:51.89, just .23 from the winner, Diana Vizza of Johns Hopkins. In the men's 5000 meters,
Cory Kennedy was third of 12 with a time of 14:37.60.Â
The next indoor action for Rensselaer's student-athletes is the NCAA Championship for those who qualify. That announcement will be made early next week.
