TROY, N.Y. - Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) head men's golf coach Matt McGarvey has announced that the captains for the team this season are Matt Buckley and Jacob Lindsay.
 
A senior, Buckley (Elmhurst, IL) has competed in 44 rounds in his career, including 23 as a junior in 2023. He posted his best round of 68 last year while competing in the Liberty League Championship, which the Engineers won. Buckley went on to average 75.04 on the season. He earned All-Liberty League First Team, GCAA All-Northeast Region, Liberty League All-Academic, and CSC At-Large Academic All-District.
 
Lindsay (Kensington, CT), a junior, has competed in 39 rounds in his career, including 23 as a sophomore in 2023. He posted his best round of 67 last year while competing in the Hershey Cup. Additionally, he posted an impressive 19 rounds in the 70's and three rounds in the 60's. Lindsay went on to average 74.30 on the season. He earned Liberty League Performer of the Week once, All-Liberty League Second Team, GCAA All-Northeast Region, and Liberty League All-Academic.
 
They have led the team to six top 10 and three top 5 finishes so far this season.
