Maddie Miller has earned automatic qualification to the NCAA Championship Meet following a pair of third place finishes at the NCAA Northeast-North Division III Diving Regional. Miller earned a score of 435.95 in Saturday's 1-meter competition, which featured 11 dives, a day after scoring 447.40 in the 3-meter event.
This is the first time Miller (Yardley, PA / Princeton Day School), a senior, has qualified for the right to compete for a national championship. She was an alternate in 2012-13.
On Saturday, Miller was less than a point from second place, which was held by Veronica Nikolaki of WPI with a total of 436.25. Wellesley College's Maura Sticco-Ivins won the regional with a score of 468.10. Also competing for the Engineers was senior
Maggie Cullather (Highland Park, IL / Highland Park). She finished 11th with 398.65 points.
The 2016 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships will take place March 16-19, 2016 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.
